Pottawattamie County Sheriff Jeff Danker described how present and future use of new equipment in the jail, communication office, and patrol cars makes the department services more efficient and cost effective. Jeff is finishing his third term as Sheriff. He has nearly 27-yr of experience in the department which now has about 150 employees and a budget of about $10 million. About two thirds of the employees work at the county jail. Jeff explained he is adding auto external defibrillators and mobile data computers in patrol cars to facilitate better service by officers at field sites. A device on the department want list, Jeff noted, is a bomb containment vehicle.
